[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've really enjoyed my new mixer. I have carpal tunnel & it is such a blessing to be able to still bake with the help of my kitchenaid stand mixer. I love it!

Out of all the wedding gifts I recieved, this was my favorite gift. It makes everything easy to make and makes a simple yet bold statement as a countertop appliance.

Disappointing experience with my mixers
on February 5, 2025

I grew up in a house with a trusty KitchenAid mixer. We used it for everything, and to this day, it is a real workhorse. But one day I got married and friends gifted me a brand new KitchenAid of my own. KitchenAid 1 had trouble with the first batch of cookie dough . . . when the dough got thick at the end, it whined and barely turned . . . my mom's KitchenAid doesn't do that. KitchenAid 1 also dropped the mixing attachments pretty regularly. Unlike my mom's, it doesn't have a spring to hold attachments on. KitchenAid 1 ended up getting replaced after beating egg whites on high speed, and when I turned the speed down, it "popped" (I guess a gear broke) and it would no longer turn off unless unplugged. KitchenAid 1 went back to the company for the safety issue, and I was sent KitchenAid 2, a refurbished mixer. KitchenAid 2 has been no less disappointing. Both KitchenAid 1 and 2 drop attachments, since they did are no longer assembled with springs. 1 and 2 also run rough, as in they sound rough all the time, and have trouble with any difficult mixing. My husband took both mixers apart and said that the gears were pretty poorly adjusted. He adjusted KitchenAid 2 and it hasn't broken yet. He also added a spring to KitchenAid 2 so that the attachments would finally stay in. I'm not happy with KitchenAid 2, but I at this point I don't believe that a replacement would be any better. It's really frustrating when the KitchenAid I grew up with still runs great (although of course it has had a few worm gear replacements over the years). That thing could mix rock. Whereas I have had two "new" mixers that sound weak, are weak, and run poorly. I was really excited to get a KitchenAid of my own. My husband hadn't grown up in a house with a stand mixer and I told him it would be the best thing ever. I was wrong. What's sadder is that I was talking to a friend the other day about my mixer story, and she said that she also grew up in a house with a workhorse KitchenAid, bought a new one when she moved out, and says that hers always sounds like it's about to break and she babies it because she really needs to be able to use her mixer. It's really sad that people like us who grew up with these mixers and loved them are experiencing this. I would like to stay loyal to this brand because of its impeccable mixers!

I received this kitchen aid stand mixer for my birthday and I love it. I bake a lot and the mixer helps mix the batter throughly.

I do love the appliance and consider it a permanent part of my kitchen. It has cut my preparation time in half. I like its sturdiness. I look forward to buying other attachments.
