Third Artisan I have bought and would not buy any other mixer but Artisan. The only down side is I can't use it for bread. My recipes call for fast and long mixing and kneading cycles and that is not what the Artisan is for. Artisan is limited so speed 2 for no more than 6 or 7 minutes total;.

Maybe I'm biased, as I grew up in a house with a heavy-duty Kitchenaid stand mixer, but I think this could be better-built. It's a good, solid mixer, and the size is good for my apartment kitchen. I have noticed when mixing, the tilt-head does bounce up and down a lot, even when locked into place. I also find it a bit difficult to get the bowls back in place (I have the metal one that came with, and the clear glass bowl). I've used it a lot since I bought it, and it works great for cookies, pastry, homemade marshmallows. All of those have turned out well. If I had the room, however, I would have gotten the Pro series instead.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: not as stable as other kitchenaids.
