I bought this KitchenAid - Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer about a month ago for my 17 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it! She's a culinary student at her high school tech school. She uses this (at home) at least two to three times a week for making everything from cakes to cookies and bread. It may be a bit pricey, but it is definitely a kitchen tool worth investing in.

Easy to use, large capacity bowl, quiet, and I love the options to turn the mixer into other products. Cant wait to get the pasta attachment.

I replaced a 20 year old 4.5 quart KitchenAid mixer (gave the old workhorse to my daughter; it's still going strong) and wanted just a little larger bowl. This Artisan 5 Quart is just what I wanted. The Pro series 6 quart and larger were just too large and heavy for my needs. And I'm used to the tilt head and find it easier to handle than the bowl-lift models. The color selections are really nice, too.
