Not as I had hoped.

I have to say that I am very disappointed in my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. I love to bake and cook, and have always done just fine with my mixers from Wal-Mart. When my last hand mixer died, I made up my mind that I was going to own an iconic Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. In my eyes the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer was a true sign that someone within a household had a passion for cooking. This past Christmas, I received my mixer and it has been the biggest let down and waste of money I've experienced in an appliance in my life time. My mixer does not touch the sides of the bowl nor does it reach all the way to the bottom of the bowl leaving flour residue and unmixed ingredients, my mixer does not mix. I have to stop my mixer several times to scrap the sides and bottom of the bowl, I am doing an awful lot of hand mixing to own such a nice electric stand mixer. I must admit that I will not be promoting this product to any of my friends and family.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up in a house with a Kitchen Aid. When I moved out and had to pinch pennies, I told myself a stand mixer wasn't that important and surely I would do just fine. Well...I did, in fact, do "just fine." Never "great." My cheesecakes were lumpy (you try mixing cool cream cheese by hand!) my mashed potatoes, if you want to be generous, "rustic," my cookies barely holding together. I am so, so thankful to have this treasure in my kitchen that makes cookies come together in 10 minutes or less, that makes mashed potatoes a snap, that makes cheesecakes silky-smooth. I LOVE that the design hasn't hardly changed since I was a child, because once I had it, I could simply open the package and get started. It's a wonderful and familiar friend, even though it's only been here a couple of months. No one who loves to/has to cook should be without a Kitchen Aid!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We already have the 6qt lift bowl pro mixer but we purchased the new ceramic bowl so I talked my wife into getting the 5qt from qvc, I already use it more and getting some attachments for our daughter for hers for birthday
