[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my new stand up 5qt mixer and could not be happier. Quality of workmanship and materials is off the charts. The very best stand up mixer one could own.
Bought 5 weeks ago...early birthday present to myself! Made cakes and frosting several times. My frosting is so much better than before...so fluffy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am giving this a 4 review not because of this mixer but based on my history with Kitchenaid blenders and my knowledge of the dependability they usually offer. This mixer was a gift to replace my old one, which was 15+ years old. I never had a single issue with that one and hand-me-downed it to someone else when gifted with my new one. I wish I hadn't done that. First I had an issue with the post that holds the mixer to the stand working it's way out repeatedly so that to use it I had to physically hold the post in place. Once I was able to fix that the lowest gear went out. I really needed it for several things so thought I'd make due without the lowest gear until I could have it fixed. Then the next lowest gear went out. Theoretically I can still use it but only if it won't hurt to mix at a high speed and only if I don't mind cleaning up everything that gets hurled out of the bowl. I am going to contact customer service and see if there is anyone in my area that can repair it under warranty as I'm not only the birthday cake person for everybody I know but also the wedding, anniversary and every other kind of cake they all need and I have to make our own gluten free bread due to allergies so can't be without a mixer for very long.
