I bought this mixer to help while I took the Wilton Cake Decorating class. To make the frosting, you use shortening, and I was destroying my hand mixer. I've been wanting a Kitchenaid for years, but never ended up getting it. The class was the last straw- I went out halfway through and bought my mixer! It's excellent for mixing up frostings, and I find I can put away all my supplies while it mixes. It's wonderful to have, and strong enough for everything I've thrown at it. Definitely worth the investment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The difference between a Kitchen Aid and my old cheaper stand mixer is night and day. The Kitchen Aid is easy to use and has a very solid, stable construction. Well worth the investment. Wish I hadn't waited so long to purchase one.
