I ordered my Kitchenaid stand mixer in December and I am absolutely in love with it. Before buying it I always used a hand mixer. Using a stand mixer is way easier and the size of the 5 quart is perfect. I also love that I can use different attachments on this mixer. The Kitchenaid mixer is well made and I will definitely use it for years to come. If you are looking for a stand mixer I would recomment a Kitchenaid brand one.

Great for some stuff, not so great for others

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the amount of money this thing costs, I really thought it'd be perfect and I'd be able to get rid of all my other cheap appliances. Unfortunately it's got some flaws. I love to spiralize, but this thing will ONLY do zucchini. If the vegetable is too small, large, fragile, or tough, it just won't work. I also am frustrated with its shredder attachments. I frequently have to chop up or rearrange the vegetables I've put in the chute because they're getting stuck, or the peel has come off and is clogging up the shredding barrel. However, it's not a total waste of money, because it does an excellent job at mixing and whisking, which leaves me free to work on other parts of a recipe. Haven't tried the dough hook yet, so I can't comment on that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been eyeing a Kitchenaid for years, but with kids and expenses, I just never put the money into it. All those cookies, and cakes baked with a hand mixer...what a shame! I should have splurged years ago and just bought one. Now I see what I've been missing! I hope to make up for lost time.

I love the ease of the pouring shield to add ingredients without stopping the process! The scraper blade early saves time too. First cake was a success!
