When the new mixer was first used to make cookie dough, a black deposit was produced that covered the surface of the bowl. We resorted to using the prior mixer bowl to proceed with the baking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new kitchen aid mixer, I buy kitchen aid appliances because of the quality and most of all they are made in the USA. Never had a problem with any of them. Thank you for continuing to stay in the USA.
My grandmother had an "automatic" mixer, I'm not sure of the brand. But she used it all the time to make wonderful desserts and I thought that was the real trick. I bought this mixer several years ago and it too has helped me with the making of so many sweet treats, mainly cakes. I more recently bought one for each of our daughters so they could experience this wonderful "kitchen aid", and that's what it is. It truly aids you with most everything in the kitchen. It's well made and has many wonderful attachments. Get one and enjoy the experience of a great KitchenAid product.
I am not new to the mixer, this is my second. I bought my first about 20 years ago and it was just retired. The motor was showing signs of wear. I have been happy with my new one although, I do believe it is a bit lighter. I am happy that the design has remained the same pretty well. I have always liked the way it worked.
