We received our 5 Qt stand mixer as a wedding gift. I registered for this item because my mom has had her's for 35 years and it still works great. Mine is a brushed chrome finish :) I was thrilled to begin using this, I have used it for whipping egg whites, mixing a variety of things, and most recently for kneading bread dough. The only draw back to the tilt-head mixer is, it lifts slightly when mixing something dense (ie. dough). I have heard the lever model is better for large volume work.
