I received my KitchenAid mixer as a wedding gift from my grandma. The color I chose (cobalt) is beautiful. The mixer also works well. I have yet to have any problems. Everything I have made has turned out great! I especially like the dough hook and kneading function for breads. However, if you make muffin or cake batter with the paddle attachment, be sure to scrape the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula or spoon, as the paddle doesn't reach all the way to the bottom and that part doesn't get mixed very well.

I love my mixer. I use it every week to make bread for my family's sandwiches. It mixes everything so easily, but... when kneading my bread, the head bobs a lot, despite being in the "locked" position. Also, when you add flour in, or put flour in last, it flies everywhere when you turn it on - no matter what speed. It has saved me a ton of time & effort, which is why I am still glad I purchased it, but the negatives are a bit disappointing. Not gonna make me stop using it, and it will still need to be pried from my cold, dead hands, but I do wish it didn't do what it does.
Pros: mostly awesome
Cons: flour flies everywhere, head "bobs"

Best Gift Ever!

We received this mixer as a wedding present and let me tell you neither one of us is disappointed! First of, the color is awesome (cobalt)...so awesome we leave our mixer on the counter at all times. Secondly, this mixer is a miracle worker. Baking has never been so easy! We have made everything in this from dog treats, to pizza dough, even meatballs! I would definitely recommend a Kitchenaid mixer to anyone considering a mixer OR and idea for a wedding registry. Top-notch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a novice bread baker this mixer has made baking so much easier. I now no longer buy bread or pasta from a store. Baking cakes and cookies are so much tastier then store bought.
