[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this new mixer to replace my 18 yr old slightly smaller one. On the first use I knew that I was disappointed in the performance of this expensive product. The top of the mixer wobbled and the sound of the gears sounded as if they would be "stripped" at any moment. I was only mixing cookie dough...the same thing my old mixer has done at least a hundred times. I know exactly what that sounds like because I have done it before when I added a hard block of brown sugar thinking the kitchen aid was up to the task.(that was careless of me and I don't fault the mixer for my foolishness). So I had my gears replaced on the old one and it still outperforms the new one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Made a 2 loaf whole wheat bread recipe and found the machine struggled a bit after 5 cups of flour. Will adjust my recipes to accommodate this problem, but really like the tilt head for ease of changing beaters.

Pros: Performance, Convenient Features, easy to use, lg beater bowl
Cons: could be easier to pour into bowl while mixing.
