I bought this 2 days ago and it is the biggest disappointment I have ever seen it cycles to fast and does not keep anything cool

Cools really well but difficult to install

This a/c cools extremely well but it's very challenging to install. They installation instructions are extremely confusing. It said you needed to remove the plastic ties and foam pad from the internal components, but I want sure if I had to black padding around the tubing. I left it on since it wasn't sure.

fishy smell

Bought this three years ago and only use it during extreme heat, which is rare in southern CA. It has developed a horrible fishy smell that we can't get rid of. We've cleaned it repeatedly and it won't go away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My review is for FFRE1533S1 not Q1

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this less than a month ago and I am glad that I did. I upgraded from a Frigidaire 12,000 BTU to this 15,000 BTU and it made all the difference. The 12,000 BTU was still working but was not cooling the area needed. The area now gets so cold that sometimes I have to turn it off. I am now waiting for the hot summer days that are coming soon, and then I will be able to review it for real.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Effective/efficient air conditioner

I bought this to cool the downstairs of a small century home. It does the job effectively and cools the entire downstairs. My only qualm is that the Economy function seems to be set on a timer rather than the temperature. Everything else works like a charm.
