Good printer, fast, but a little noisy

Nice printer, but a little noisy. The paper compartment needs some attention. It doesn't allow you to replace paper easily.

Keeps timing out

I have to turn the printer off, wait and then restart ebery time I want to print or scan a document. The only time is can do back to back prints is if they are done within 3 minutes or so of each other.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Exactly what I was looking for

I saw the J4420 on sale locally and was going to purchase it. Then I saw the j4620 and it was lan capable, so I drove a bit to find one in stock, my local stores were out. I have a HP 8450, but the ink is expensive and runs out really quick. I saw this with the separate color ink and the high yield cartridges and chose it. I was in the middle of a school presentation board and I printed a bunch of pictures, some in best mode and even with the starter cartridges (which are usually not full) I only managed to use half the cyan and magenta, a bit of the yellow and hardly any black. If this machine continues to operate in this fashion, I'll be more than happy with my purchase. Also the copier works great. Haven't tried the fax or scanner, but they are both installed and ready for use.

Disappointed!

The MFC-J4620DW is my very first Brother product purchase and I must say that I am very disappointed. The print quality especially in color is very poor and it takes and extremely long time to print documents from my iPad.
In addition, it makes a very high pitch sound when collecting data in order to execute a print job.
I will never procure another Brother produci

Overrated

Loved it when I first hooked it up. Very soon, the Apple products could not find the printer. Eventually the Windows systems could not either. Cannot get it to print envelopes. Watched the video many times and followed their directions and it still won't print envelopes. Load the rear envelope slot with a envelope, hit print and it prints envelope format on a standard piece of paper. Yet it won't take envelopes from that drawer. I have many, many hours into getting this unit to work correctly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Versatile, dependable printer

This is the best ink jet printer that I have used. It was very easy to set up. It uses very little ink in cleaning the print heads. Print quality is excellent.

Noisy

This is the second Brother MFC that I have owned. While the J4620DW does have some nice features, whenever it receives data and prepares to print, it produces a rather loud "digital hum." It's disturbing and a frustration.
