Awful Setup

If you intend to connect this printer via Wireless LAN to be used by more than one computer that might also be connected wirelessly, you will hate setting up this printer and keeping it working. Brother has assumed that a wireless printer can be automatically assigned an IP address, but a network printer's IP address must always be the same, and if other machines connect and disconnect from the network, that will not necessarily be the case unless the Printer has a static IP address above the range that might be used by other devices. That requires manual setup of the printer, and the menu system on this printer makes manual setup an exercise in frustration. The menus are confusing, and they time out so quickly that if you don't know exactly what you need to do when you get to that menu item, you will keep having to start things over. Also, the menus change in no particularly logical way, so that you can easily accidentally press the wrong keys and (for example) reset the WLAN so you have to start over. Unless you really know what you're doing, or have one computer and one printer, both always on and connected, you will be sorry you got this printer...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer for the value.

I bought this printer to replace an inkjet that was used infrequently. This is a great printer for the money. It was easy to set up and use. I have now replaced my wifi router twice and each time the printer was easy to re-connect. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others.

For the $$ this is a great little printer. I do a lot of black/white forms. This is great for this task. I highly recommend this printer.

Reliable Printer

I've been using Brother printers for years. I previously had a HL-2370 laser printer and used it extensively before I wore it out and had to recycle it. Now I'll continue the trend. I love Brother printers. They work very, very well.
