This is the 3rd one I've purchased in 4 yrs. It's a great printer but it doesn't hold up to time. The only reason I keep buying this model is because of it's low cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kinda miss lead

can not get my laptop and printer to hook up through wireless, have tried everything online they say to do but nothing works. Also when I bought it, I wasn't told it was a refurbished model. Thought it was brand new . Prints fine when cable is connected

Quality Product and Service

This product is user friendly. The results are always crystal clear and sharp. When our Wifi repaired and needed to reset the machine, the Brother Service person was incredibly patient and clear as he walked me through each step. How nice to deal with an American and not one you cannot understand, that only can give you a rehearsed answer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pretty Good!

Good: Toner doesn't dry out, good for infrequent use. Initial toner lasted me five months. Jams are uncommon and easy to remove. The printer seems sturdy and can print on heavy paper weights one side at a time. Most appreciated features are double sided printing, fast printing speed. Bad: I wasted a ton of ink in the beginning just trying to set up the printer on the network, and ended up opting for a USB cable.

Never Go Back to Inkjet

This printer is a bit larger than most inkjet I've owned but I can't knock it for that because overall it performs very well. I've owned HP, Canon, Epson inkjet printers over the years. They print very nicely but you know the story. The TCO is high because of ink drying up. This B&W Brother laser printer meets 99% of my printing needs and it's fast. The color scan feature right into my Dropbox account is convenient (I don't have to open scanner queue on my iMac). One thing I did find was it's inability to connect to 5Ghz Wifi. Keep that in mind if you are only running that band but most of use run both.

Disappointing

Due to being on a secured network and because of where the printer is located in my office, I have to use the built-in wireless feature to connect. This required an hourlong consultation with a tech person by phone to get properly set up, and it still is very glitchy (the tech person warned me it was). If you, for whatever reason, must use the built-in wireless rather than going through an established network or using a printer cable, look elsewhere. As for other features, I am happy with the print quality and speed but VERY unhappy with the scan quality. All in all, while I just loved my previous Brother printers, I am unimpressed with this one and would return it if I could.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works ok, BUT.........

Only problem is if printer is on, my PC will start but the monitor is black. The monitor starts immediately when the printer is turned off. Printer works ok thereafter as does PC. I am using Windows 7.
