After going through 4 (yes, 4) competitor's multifunction color inkjets, I went out and got this simple, straightforward B&W laser. While we sort of miss the ability to scan, this printer does what it's supposed to do, and does it reliably and economically. Our print load is sporadic - lots of downtime with brief daily spurts of activity and the occasional high volume print run. It was easy to set up on our network and it's behaving itself. The only quirk (that I haven't tracked down and resolved yet) is that the print driver / installer / windows appear to be fighting each other when I try to remote print via our VPN. Aside from this esoteric (likely port config) weirdness, it's rock solid and responds to local LAN wakeup calls flawlessly.
Absolutely recommend it for its intended purposes.

Can't get WiFi to work - frustrating

I have used Brother Printers for years so when I shopped for a replacement for a workhorse printer that finally died, I bought this one. The WiFi option was very appealing. The printer is very close to the router and there are no obstacles, so the fact that I haven't been able to get it to work has been very annoying. The troubleshooter pages in the on-line manual are no hellp. The printing itself is efficient.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fastest Printer Ever Owned

Based on the good review on Cnet.com, we decided to buy this printer to replace a Samsung Color laser. Wow! Though the same foot-print as the Samsung, this Brother prints much faster, is easier to use and offers a digital display to interface with it for set-up. This printer will definitely do the job and more for us!

I finally had to retire my old Brother printer and was discouraged to find I couldn't buy another the same. I bought three of these computers and am very, very happy with them. I was also given good help setting them up so each one prints what I want. With three of the same brand it was a challenge at first.
