Why Did I Wait So Long?

I have used inkjets exclusively for my home office over the past 20 years: Lexmark, HPs and, for the past several machines, Canon. When my most recent Canon finally died after an admirable five years of service, I was tempted to find another used or refurbed Canon unit so I could continue using my considerable supply of cartridges. Then, I started thinking about wireless because often I am away from the printer when I want to print. I also admitted to myself that I no longer need a color printer. After a search, reading outstanding professional and consumer reviews, I had to give this Brother printer a try.
I am so happy with this printer! It's fast, quiet, very economical to operate (especially compared to inkjets) and it's print quality puts injet black and white printer output to shame. But the real thrill for me is how easy and flawless wireless printing is. After setting up the printer on our home wireless network, a piece of cake by the way, I have been able to print from my iPhone, my wife's Android, my Win7 desktop and my Win10 laptop. All of them on the first try and without a hitch.
I should mention that I have used a high quality, bright white copy paper with great success; but I recently got a great deal on some bright white laser paper. The results have been even better.
I could not be happier with this printer. Kudos, Brother! Keep up the great work!

Owned this printer for about six months, so far so good . No issues. Was easy to setup and install. The original toner cart seemed to provide a lot less than advertised even with all "ink saving" options turned on. That is why 4 stars instead of 5.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Did not need all those web-printing functionality and did not try. This is a personal printer for my daughter, now in high school. Chose it for it has a high installed amount of system memory and the scan/copy feature. Of course, wireless printing is a must these days, and it works without any trouble. Laptop runs windows 10. Print quality and speed both very good. Haven't print any photo yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointing

I decided to go wireless in 2016 and regret it profoundly. First of all, you can't set up and install your wireless printer unless it is first connected with a wire to your computer. SMH. The wireless set up is simply a ploy to have you connected to Big Brother always watching; saying you can't print unless you buy more toner cartridge even though you hardly used the one inside and the ink is darkest black. 2016 organized crime is selling America a printer that requires toner every 2 weeks. What a rip off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Big Mistake

WiFi simply does not work. If you are lucky enough to get it to work, it does it once than cannot be located on the network on next attempt. Have the printer 3 ft from my Apple router and it does not recognize it - am sure of the Apple passwords and all my other devices work fine including my HP laser printer.
Even trying to send a scanned copy to my Apple iMac it fails; just trying to send it so I can email to someone. Failure!
It can copy a page just fine! Wow - lucky me.
Forget about printing a document or email from my iPhone 6 - it never finds the Brother (Oh Brother!)
I use to have a Brother 8500 MFC which worked great for years, then it malfunctioned and wasn't worth fixing.
This printer was just a big mistake - I wish I could return it but was away for 2 months and had it too long

this is a large sized printer that does simple atsks well.. the features and options are all we need.. we are quite satisfied.. thanx for a finne product.. glad to have tried the brother brand, as so many others seem to have weak points in the life of the unit.. ie. cheap price, expensive ink, or parts that break just as you replace ink.. so far, brother is good..

Not What I'd Hoped For

This is my second Brother printer. I thought I'd get a home network workhorse, but I have never been able to establish a consistent network connection and now have it wired to only one of my computers and cannot use it with either of the family's iPhones.
It is apparently associated with the fact that my router is dual band and this printer cannot deal with the pathway choices the router offers. I am not about to spend the time to figure it out, but I fume every time I use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
