Simple and on point

I was SO tired of buying those teeny, tiny cartridges in 4 different colors - when all I really need to do is print in B/W. This printer took a bit of help from customer services setting it up with my wifi, but since then - it works like a charm, all the time, every time. Quick double siding feature is the bomb. I've had the printer a few months now and I'm still on the toner cartridge that it came with. I definitely recommend this printer to someone who wants a no fuss and considerably fast printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great printer for a great price!

This is a great printer for an amazing price! This is the second printer of this same kind that we have had. The drum unit went bad on our old printer, and it was cheaper to buy a whole new printer than to buy the drum unit. We heavily use this printer and it works great!

Simple to operate

This a great value for a small or homw office that doesn't have massive printing needs. I couple it with an all-in-one unit and have scan, copy, and fax with laser printer quality at an ink-jet price.

Absolute Junk

I replace and older 12 year old machine with this one, it the cheapest plastic thinner than paper, printing quality stinks. I also replaced my 15 year old brother MFW this year, same junk, no more Brother for me.

Printing is great set-up is horrible!

This is the first printer I have ever purchased that required a 40-minute tech call in order to get it to work on all of my devices. The problem is Deep Sleep mode never wakes up without specifically programming a static IP address designated to the printer. I loved Brother devices before this experience and now it is doubtful I would repurchase unless they either 1) figure out how to have the printer wake up from deep sleep using dynamic IP addresses or 2) enclose explicit written directions on how to create a static IP address. I had to calll to set-up which took 40 minutes. A few months later we lost power and the printer lost the static IP address. Thus another 25-minute phone call to get a human to help me set it up again. I wrote the directions step-by-step in case of another power outage but I feel strongly Brother should include this information in written form in the box!

Basic Good Printer

Runs well but I wish it were a copier and I have constant problems running AirPrint from iPads and my phone but not a MacBook Pro
It goes into deep sleep even with the right decision from you my iPad only connects with the printer when I unplug it and boot it back up it should be automatic and it's annoying
