Economical, Reliable

If you don't need color printing this machine is much more economical than inkjet printers with their high cartridge costs. Installation is not difficult but the videos at Brother.com are very helpful. Save the USB connector from your old Printer to use in setting up the wi-fi. Print quality over the last 3 months ( normal text and grey scale pictures) is very good, even if the printer is used infrequently. Paper handling is good, double-sided printing is much easier than my last machine. Scanning works well. It sometimes takes a few minutes to the machine to go from power on till wi-fi connect and print ready but this has not been a problem for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

When the printer has not been used for a while, it goes into what it says is "deep sleep" and is impossible to wake up. It's in that condition now, and even though it is connected to my laptop with a wire and its window says it is "ready" when I send a document to print nothing happens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Practical and Easy to Install

This is exactly the printer my family needs. It prints forever and no tampering around to get it to work. Now I just need to figure out how to use the scanner and fax if it even has this feature.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fast, sometimes

The copier is fast to scan, and fast enough to print. We have 2 of these. Sometimes our iPads only “one” of them, and sometimes I get a bogus “offline “ message. Rebooting sometimes fixes the “offline “ problem. I had read about these problems in reviews before I bought 5he machines.

I use it for copies and scanning. I have called and the tec gets it to print...then in a day it stops again?? WHY WHY WHY???

The printer has many features and and manual is easy to understand and use.
You get a lot of copies and save quite a bit for ink. Back to back printing is outstanding and saves time.
