Excellent product with a few serious flaws

This affordable printer works well, but would be even better with some changes.
1. The one line LCD not useful. It is IMPOSSIBLE see if you have the printer facing the front of you. Put a better, lighted LCD or LED facing front or, as a 2" lift-up unit on the top. I would pay a bit more for this feature being addedl. I would trade up to it.
I also have an HL-2280DL that has two lines and backlighting. Much better but not without problems.
2. The menu on the 2280 LCD is lousy. Do any English speaking, non-teckie customers ever have input into such features as units are designed? I doubt it.

Fine machine

The HL-L2389DW is the perfect machine for my desktop. I especially like the wireless connectivity to our home network. It connected to the network in only a few seconds. The print and copy quality is fine, and it scans documents and photos quite well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great printer ... Wireless connection need work

Love the print quality and ease of use when connected via UBS.
And ... Have had extreme difficulty connecting via wireless network to my MacBook Pro ... After two hours of attempts gave up for the time being.
Recently connected an HP printer to the same network in 10 minutes without problems.
Brother ... you've got some work to do on your wireless connection protocols!

Overall this item is good. We have 2 and we use it for teaching, copying, etc... Affordable, decent quality, .... cartridges from Brother are expensive but you can find generic ones at 1/4 the price. So... overall good!

its very dependable, fast and easy to set up and connect to wifi. a little on the noisy side but what do you expect for the price. very satisfied
