Adequate at best

Bottom line: the print quality is terrible. The heater for the toner overheats the paper. The print job is legible but that's about it. I would not write a letter and print it from this printer to mail. I am disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Price

The product works well. Setting up wireless proposed a few problems. Calling the tech-support number requires waiting an unacceptable amount of time. Finally figured out how to solve problem without talking to any tech. If you have the minimum knowledge to accomplish solving a problem - I suggest you read and avoid calling the techs - unless you have lots of time.

Great printer

I researched multiple printers and had two brands in the finals. I visited a local office supply store and the Brother laser printer was the clear choice as for one it had the ability to print double sided and the other did not. In this price range it can't be beat. If you do not need color and are looking for a printer that is easy to set up and configure, this is it. I had it unboxed and set up in under 15 minutes. I have it working wireless with an iMac desktop. The size is perfect for a small area and it prints fast.

Needs Improvement

This is a very compact printer and the print quality is good, but the start up time for the first page is SLOW. We are using it in a Mac environment on Yosemite. Print jobs seem to "stick" in the software and the plug in back is integrated and cannot be removed to re-boot. I wish the power switch actually cut the power because we often have to unplug the printer from the wall to get the "stuck" files to print. Depressing the power switch does not work. I wanted to love this printer because the form factor is excellent. But it only earns 2 stars for the reasons given.

Disappointed

I use the hotspot on my phone as a wi fy conection. The printer needs to be setup every time i want to use it wireless. I spent time on your help line and that is what I was told. It works fine plugged into my laptop but would be a hassle to print from my phone or Ipad.

I think I'm going to return this because the printer won't stay connected to my server wirelessly. I've called customer service several times and this is just getting to be too much.
