Ice maker too small

Bought this fridge about 6 months ago to replace our last LG fridge after 14 years. We love LG products and have had great luck with them. I was so excited to finally have an ice maker in the door, however, this ice maker is far too small for a refrigerator of this size. I'm constantly running out of ice and having to activate the "Ice Plus" and even have bags of spare ice in my garage fridge. I bought this size fridge for our growing family of 5 and we are out of ice by the afternoon every day. If ice is an important part of your day, then I'd look at models with 2 ice makers. Very disappointed.

Performance and durability

I bought this model in Nov, 2015 and till now it broke twice. Fortunately, we bought extended warranty for 5 years, otherwise repair cost is fortune. LG covers compressor for 10 years but labor cost is expensive.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cooling issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One year after purchase there were issues for both refrigerator and freezer losing cooling capabilities. It took 3 years of frustration with a machine that did not perform as advertised, before LG recognized this model had a flawed compressor. My unit was finally repaired in December 2020 at no charge to me. Late but relieved.

We have enjoyed having a large enough refrigerator to contain everything without feeling overstuffed. What is a little complicated to comprehend is the temperature fluctuation due to the defrosting. It usually doesn't change for very long but long enough to be curious.

Troubles from the beginning

Fridge is only 5 years old and has been a problem for the last 4 years. Started with the refrigerator not cooling, ended up replacing a panel inside the fridge. Then the water and ice dispenser stopped working - a broken wire that fed into the top part of the door. That required a new door. Then a few weeks ago the freezer and ice dispenser stopped working . Out of all the appliances we purchased for the new home this is the only one that has been a lemon.
