Big and expensive with a way too little ice maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very large refrigerator and I love the drawers and the door in door. But, the ice maker in it is insanely small! It barely makes enough ice to get through a hot days worth of cold drinks. The fridge itself, like I said Is crazy big, but it’s quite difficult to arrange/set up the shelves to make use of all of that space. If you buy one of these behemoths have it delivered and set up. You have to take the doors off (with water and ice in door this sucks) and you have to take out both of the drawers to get it in the house. Overall this took me almost 3 hours, and I’m pretty handy with tools. Then, you have to figure out how to get it to seal properly so it will make ice.

Convenient Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had our LG for 4 years. The quick access door and the chilling drawer are convenient. Fridge and Freezer space are more than roomy. Ice tray is small in this version. The no smudge black stainless surface is excellent! Have had a compressor failure, but LG promptly repaired under warranty. All in all has been a good purchase.

Love our LG fridge

So dissapointing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator several years ago and within 4 years the compressor failed. This was fortunately covered by the extended compressor failure warranty the LG put into place, however, this did not initially cover the damages caused by the compressor failing. Since the ice maker is in the door, when the compressor fail the ice melted and poured through the door shorting out most of the functions within the door. It took me 4 months to get LG to diagnosed the end then agree to cover the repairs, and finally to repair the unit. And now I have a functioning fridge, but the door no longer lines up properly and I have no way of fixing it. LG will have to Institute some pretty significant changes to their customer service as well as blur quality control before I consider purchasing another one of their appliances.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this refrigerator almost 6 months ago and it has worked amazing. It's very versatile in storage options with the extra drawer. The black fingerproof finish is perfect with the grandkids around. It's style and function have been perfect in our home.
The only flaw has been that after about months 4, the ice cubes and water began to taste extremely salty. We changed the filter and put in a reverse osmosis water filter in the supply line and now that has been rectified.
