[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this model 3 years ago and the ice/water dispenser stopped working 4 weeks ago. Had scheduled repair but before they could complete, the whole unit stopped working except for the lights. Ended up buying another one this week because we loved our 1st one...didn't want to give up on the brand and hope this lasts more than 3 years. Keeping the faith and we love this style/brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our 2nd one in 3 yrs. LG has a terrible list of repair companies for any repairs needed in Indiana. It's best to biuy an extended warranty from place of purchase to do a far better job of getting it repaired if needed. Still we replaced our old one with the same model. Can't all be lemons. We will see how the new one holds up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaces a 20 year old GE side-by-side that was large for it's day, but the style made it difficult to see and reach items both in the fridge and freezer side. I love the extra cubic feet of storage, and it is very well lit both in the freezer and fridge. The custom chill drawer is a fantastic feature, and the middle shelf of the freezer is perfect for flash freezing meals we make in advance to have handy. The door in door feature is awesome too! The only improvement on this item would be greater adjustibility in the door bins and with the shelves in the fridge. There are a lot of negative reviews on this fridge online-- I've only had it for 3 weeks, so I can't vouch for how well it will work long term.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator a little over 3 weeks ago and after having had an LG refrigerator for more than 8 years, LG has (at least so far) done a great job in updating their products. Because we've only had this new refrigerator a few weeks, this review cannot be comprehensive, but merely an early-on overview.
PROS:
-LOVE the quick access door! It really does make a difference in getting to those commonly used items.
-Very happy that the water filter has been moved to the bottom of the left door. Changing it will no longer require me to empty and remove the top shelf to gain access! GREAT upgrade!
-The multi-use drawer where the temperature is adjustable is fantastic. I can set it to keep sodas colder than would be possible in the main refrigerator compartment. Also really like that items in this drawer are easier to access via this individual drawer.
-So far, it is very quiet, makes sufficient ice and temperature control seems pretty well balanced, judging by the fact that no vegetables in the crisper drawers have frozen like they did in our other LG refrigerator.
CONS:
-In the freezer compartment, there are 2 trays above the main very large storage compartment…and there are issues with both trays:
1) the top-most tray does NOT come open when the main freezer drawer is opened. In fact, even with the freezer completely open, you still have to stoop to reach in and find the top tray by groping around for the lip to pull the top drawer forward so the contents are accessible. NOT a great feature
2) The lower tray does come forward when the freezer section is opened, but why on earth is it so skinny/shallow? Literally, the only thing you can put on this tray is pizza boxes, SMALL single-layer bagged vegetables or as we did - ice packs. Seems a wasted space/feature.
Despite the cons, love our new refrigerator.
