Mediocre cooling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever the temperature in the house gets over 85 degrees F, the icemaker stops working, the refrigerator goes to about 50 degrees F, the freezer warms up-making ice cream soft and mushy.

While this does fall withing the ambient temperature range in the owner's manual, we'll need to ensure that the unit has adequate clearance for venting, as well. It will need at least 2" at the back and top for proper circulation. We also recommend at lease 1/4" on either side. If you still have questions regarding this, our support is available on Twitter via @LGUSSupport, or at www.facebook.com/LGUSA
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in a hurry when my frig died 2 days before Thanksgiving. I based it on the cu.ft. available and that it would fit in my allotted space.
I would have returned it withing the 30 days but my husband was deployed and didn't want to bother friends again.
The shelves are only a single shelf making it difficult to adjust for multiple heights of items. They should have cut it in two to allow for two levels.
The placement of the long thin snack drawer seemed great until you filled it up and can't see anything on the shelf below. They should have placed that drawer directly over the vegetable and fruit drawers. It makes that bottom shelf absolutely useless unless you get on your hands and knees to try to look into the shelf. Absolutely worthless. I had to scrounge around to find two snack drawers from old disposed refrigerators to stick on top this shelf so I could pull out things to see them. Worst design ever.
Also, the lighting makes you think there are yellow stains on each side of the white shelf front. I kept trying to wipe it off but realized it was the reflection from the interior light.
I'd post photos but am in another country at this time.
I specifically purchased an LG due to positive reviews on product reliability.
Would definitely not recommend this item to anyone unless you keep an empty refrigerator, which we do not.

design flaw
on August 29, 2018

so after months of back and forth with this thing and eventually a door replacement, I have discovered a major design flaw and would advise anyone with a big family and a lot of stuff in their fridge to steer clear. turns out that even after a door replacement if you load the door shelves? which seems like that's what they are for, every time you close the door the fridge beeps (which cannot be turned over or over ridden) 5 times every 20 or so seconds? unless you figure out the right spot on the side of the fridge to"hit" it. LG should look into fixing this issue. But I will not buy another LG product as I cannot imagine they would allow this flaw to go unchecked?

Haven't even had this a year and the compressor goes out. Read the reviews. Seems to be a common problem with this fridge, but until I can find my receipt they won't fix it, even though there's supposedly a 10 year warranty on the compressor. Beautiful piece of junk!

Plastic shelves and door bins cracked
on February 18, 2019

We bought an LG refrigerator and within the first year the white plastic piece which encased the top shelf glass cracked. Next, the plastic bins on the door cracked and broke. We were about five minutes out of warranty at this point. My husband superglued, My husband superglued them but now the top one completely shattered. There is also an issue with the doors not closing properly. We have adjusted the front feet and had a repairman out. He said he has heard many complaints about this from other owners. The freezer door does not shut all the way with caused ice to build up in the tube that runs down to the refrigerator. We had to unplug the unit until it was completely defrosted then deal with the melted ice. This has not been a great experience. The flasy light in the fridge is the only aspect of the unit I am inpressed with. We are a family of three with a 15 yr old child not ecactly rough wear and tear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switched back to top freezer and glad I did. This fridge is sleek with a lot of space upper and lower and the wheels makes it easy to move for cleaning behind the unit. No handles for flush fit in a tight space
