[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved our Refrigerator for about 4 1/2 years until it quit cooling. Luckily LG put a 5year warranty on our model and fixed it. Now we'll see how long it works this time.

Unfortunately, the compressor failed after only four years. The repair process was horrendous, leaving us without a refrigerator over the holidays for more than six weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first bought an LG over and under refrigerator in June of 2013, the compressor went out exactly 4 years later. I had it repaired by the LG recommended service company and from that moment on it sounded like a dump truck. I bought another one in November 2017 and in February 2022 the compressor went out AGAIN!! I had it repaired because when I bought this one with a 5 year warranty (the compressor is supposedly warranted for 19 years, but generally it does not include the labor or response charge from the repairman. I’ll never buy another one as long as I live.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Turns out the infamous linear compressor failed on my unit as it had for thousands of other unwitting consumers who were included in a class action lawsuit. I am grateful, however, that LG honored its warranty and paid to have the compressor replaced.

Very minor issues like the water button been a bit too wobbly and the writing coming off. However, the other night we woke up the next morning and the refrigerator was not cooling. Long story short, thank goodness for the protection plan because the compressor had to be replaced. Who knows how much that would have costed without the plan.
I really like the features of this unit but hopefully this was a one off thing.
