Freezer issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had an LG fridge for 18 yrs with no issues and I got this fridges 18 months ago and it was definitely not what I expected. The ice box freezes and you have to thaw it out every 2 months and not the ice dispenser does not work and water is leaking.Very dissapointing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Should be LNG for Life's Not Good

Bought this unit on 12/15/16 along with a LG microwave and gas stove. Immediately started having problems with the door alarm going off when the door was closed. Took three repair attempts to correct the problem. It then started again and I called tech support to see if there was a way to unplug the alarm. I was told there was no way to do this. I then followed the sound and located the speaker and just unplugged it. No more problems with that. Most recently, April 2019, the ice maker quit working and the freezer looked like it had snow in it, and the refrigerator part was not cooling. Have had three attempts to correct this problem and yet to have it corrected. Last tech had to order a defrost item to be installed next week. We have lost lots of food as the refrigerator only cools to around 50 degrees when it should be around 36 degrees. Life is Not Good! Will never buy another LG refrigerator. Online now shopping for a new one to replace this one. If the tech is able to fix it it will be put in the garage as a backup. I'm done.

Will have to replace after less than 3 years

I am frustrated with this appliance and can't believe I have to replace it after less than 3 years of use. It started in April when the refrigerator stopped cooling. After 3 different companies servicing it, the evaporator fan motor being replaced twice within 2 weeks, and replacing the control board assembly, the appliance still doesn't work and now the freezer is failing. I have spent more than $500 in repairs for something that still doesn't work. This doesn't seem like an isolated incident if you look at Amazon reviews and reviews on this site.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freezes food in the glide and serve drawer

Bought this Refer in 2014. Was pretty good the 1st Year and a half Except for freezing food in the drawers. Since then We have to Manually defrost it every 8 to 10 months, Which takes about 2 1/2 hours. Paying that kind of price I would expect a much better operating machine. My last Fridge lasted over 20 years with NO problems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this fridge for 4 years. It recently completely died on us. Just stopped cooling either the fridge or freezer. We discovered the problem because of water dripping out which we tracked to melting ice in the ice maker. Our usual repair guy came out but said it was the "closed system" and to contact LG for warranty repair. Sure enough the closed system was still under warranty. A tech came out a week later (ugh, a week without a fridge. but it was worth it to get it covered under warranty as this is basically the most expensive part of the whole thing). A few hours later we had a fully functional fridge again. The work involved welding. It was impressive.
Anyway - aside from that situation, the fridge is great. I love the door in door. I love the french doors. I love having a bottom freezer. I love having easy access to everything. It's bright and adjustable. It's huge. I can hardly believe everything that fits in it.
