[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Soon after purchase freezer had an ice build up that caused the unit to stop working. LG had to come to home to repair. Now, after 3 years, the unit has completely died. LG says they only have a 1 year warranty. LG says they plan to do something but it's been 3 weeks and food had to be thrown out.

Don’t buy LG
on June 18, 2019

We’ve had this fridge about 3 years and it stopped cooling this past March. Fine - appliances break. However, the biggest headache has been dealing with LG. They dragged us along sending technician after technician (I should have kept track, but did not - it was at least 4-5 separate technician appointments for which my husband and I had to alternate taking off work for) for over two months, even after the second tech declared it “unrepairable”. LG finally found a technician who cobbled together the parts and got it working again, on May 31. Now, on June 18, I arrived home after grocery shopping for frozen meals only to find that it has stopped cooling again (oh the irony!). After spending around an hour on the phone multiple times with LG and their chosen contractor, A&E, and informing them both that I am due to give birth this Friday, they are sending out another technician…next Wednesday. (Which I was informed of via a text from A&E - no phone call from LG!) I would laugh at the ridiculous situation if I weren’t crying and ready to scream.
So, long story short, don’t buy LG! And don’t read those reviews that were written just a few months or year after purchasing the product! It’s not just their products but the customer service that is totally lacking!

Broken for 5th time in 3 1/2 years

Talk about a lemon! Repairmen have replaced the mother board twice, soldered the compressor in place once and tried another time to repair the defroster component, saying "that should fix it." Today, it's gone out for the 5th! time in 3 1/2 years. A true lemon. No more LG'S. They look good but are designed by people who never use them!

Great until it broke

I would not recommend this model. Ours has been broken for over a month now and we’ve had three service calls done on it to try to fix the problem, but it keeps breaking down. Luckily it was covered under warranty but we have reached the end of our desire to try to get it fixed. The issue was the compressor, which was replaced and after that another part went and was repaired. It just stopped working again after the latest repair three days ago. Sorry to leave a bad review, LG, but we need to move on.

Fridge died after 16 or so months. Out of warranty. Never buying anything again that can't be backed up and serviced locally.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my refrigerator in March of 2019 from Lowes. I liked it a lot, but had a problem with the freezer door popping open when we closed the refrigerator door. After working with Lowes for months, and no reception from LG, I finally got a new refrigerator last month and now am happy with it. The new unit tends to pop open the freezer door also, but it is immediately closed again.
I understand that not everything goes perfectly with the sale of products, but I was "stonewalled" when I attempted to talk with LG service about the problem. For this reason, I will be reticent about future purchases.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit keeps things cold and is very quiet in operation which we really love! The unit does have some small quirks though. The LED lights do not illuminate the storage areas very well, this is due to the positioning in the front only, there should be more lights built into the back of the unit to help light the entire area in both freezer and fridge. Also the top fridge rack is too flimsy to hold any real weight, we store most heavy items in the door as a result. Also the knob on the freezer temp gauge which is located on the back wall of the freezer can be easily bumped when moving food around thus changing the temp level in the fridge. The gauge lever pultrudes out a bit and goes up and down so any movement of frozen items can easily hit this gauge thus changing the temp levels unknowingly. Overall this unit is pretty good but LG needs to focus in the little things such as these listed to get 5 stars from me.
