[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have really enjoyed our LG French door refrigerator. We can easily adjust the shelves in the fridge. The compartment keeps everything cool and fresh for a long time. We enjoy the slide out meat/cheese drawer. And just above that are three deep, different sized slide out drawers for adjustable for keeping fruits and vegetables fresh. The large capacity freezer has room for storing lots of our warehouse size vegetable packages and two additional slide out drawers for frozen desserts and entrees. The ice dispenser and cold water in the door is constantly in use to make it easy for me to keep up on my daily water intake.

We bought this refrigerator 5 years ago as part of a major remodel of our house. We liked the design and features: French double door, ice maker and water dispenser in door, storage capacity, large bottom freezer. In general, it has served its purpose satisfactorily.
However, the compressor has gone out twice, once about two years after purchase and again just a month ago. The compressor has a 10-year warranty which has been honored without question. But that is an awful record of failure and losing your refrigerator and freezer translates into major inconvenience. When I think about how long refrigerators without all the bells and whistles we now expect used to last, this record is pretty shameful. Makes me yearn for the days when appliance companies valued creating a product that was highly reliable as their emphasis over making it into the latest whiz bang electronic wonder with way too many things that can break or go wrong. I've got to say though. If there's one thing a refrigerator maker ought to be able to get right it would be the heart of the whole thing: the compressor. It absolutely needs to be durable. An average life-span of 2 and a half years does not begin to meet the standard consumers need to consider buying.
There are other things that we've noticed. - The water filter housing will not stay shut. The latch is broken. - We have found that the arrangement of storage space is particularly limited for tall items. They only fit in the door unless you make major shelving changes. Feels awkward. + The slide out bottom storage area is really helpful and one of the most useful aspects of the design. + Water and ice dispensers have worked well, except for when the compressor began to fail. Not getting ice was the first sign we had there was a problem. +/- The freezer set up is pretty good. You can get lots into that space and there are some top sliding shelves that are very convenient. However, there are two large bins at the bottom and there is a tendency for stuff to land in there and get buried as the bin fills up. So access in the big bottom freezer bins is problematic. If you use to full capacity, you can't really get to everything conveniently.
Bottom Line: The design and features are not bad and are in line with other makes and models on the market and sells at a competitive price. We have to give the product an "F" for reliability, so would find it hard to recommend it to other buyers just on that basis.

The problem is 5 years or close into the lifespan and the compressor needed to be changed. People buy a 1,500 dollar and above fridge not to have parts be replaced every 5 years

My LG refrigerator is 5 years old and I’m on the 4th compressor and it is still not working. Food has spoiled. Waiting for Monday so I can call the repair center again! Worst refrigerator ever!!!
