In the second year of ownership the compressor failed, 5 days before Christmas. LG arranged for and paid for the repair . Now, 5 years later, it freezes up in the fridge part and ices up in the freezer. I have to pay for the repair. The fridge is 7 years old. It should last longer than this.

Alas, ALL NEW REFRIGERATORS STINK AND ARE NOT BUILT TO LAST. Two dated refrigerators in the garage, both 14 years plus, are still going strong. Next one will be a used one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our compressor failed after 4/12 years. LG paid for the replacement. The assembly of the shelves and interior was not done well...screws were missing and parts were not fully installed. We do like the size, layout, appearance and water/ice output.
