Constant Repairs

Don't waste your money with this refrigerator. I went by reviews only to finally notice most reviews were written within a short period of ownership. Try owning one of these for a few years and see what happens. It's on a third compressor and the company wants to replace it with a fourth. Don't bother with this refrigerator. Buy one that's reliable even after several years.

This model meets our needs

This model is a replacement for LFX21976ST for which we had unresolvable ice maker problems. LG customer service was wonderful to work this and this model works exceptionally well. No problems with the ice maker and there is an added feature that allows the glide and serve drawer to be used for vegetables and there seems to be better door storage.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings

Excellent - only two minor quibbles

This replaces our 28-year old refrigerator, and what a great replacement! It's quiet when running, and sensibly shuts off when you open the door and resumes when you close it (and makes some of the interesting sounds mentioned in the manual). Even though it's supposedly fewer cubic feet, it's actually more roomy and holds more than our old side-by-side. The refrigerator layout is good, and it's extremely well-lit so that everything is visible and nothing gets lost in dark corners. We would have liked larger, deeper produce drawers, but with some attention to placement everything fits – and we notice that veggies stay fresh longer, probably thanks to the temperature adjustment controls. The freezer layout also works very well, and although it is spacious we have removed the supplied bin for ice cubes to expand its capacity even further (we have a lot of frozen food). The ice maker in the door is a brilliant idea; in the old refrigerator it took up about a quarter of the freezer space. We've noticed that the water coming from the dispenser has considerable variability in coldness, our only complaint so far.

Best Fridge Ever

Purchased this refrigerator in early July. We decided on the counter depth model because of where the fridge is located in our kitchen. Two months later, I couldn't be happier with our choice. I love that I don't have to "dig" thru other items to get what I need from the back. Everything is within very easy reach. Better yet, is all the wonderful space. Then there's the produce drawers. I'm amazed (and pleased) at how fruits and vegetables keep. Absolutely no regrets with this model.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My ice maker does not consistently dispense ice. It jams more often than not. Frustrating!

HORRIBLE! SOUNDS LIKE A JALOPY

So I'm 10 days past my one year manufacturer warranty and now the refrigerator makes a L O U D rattling/buzzing sound and won't stop. One year and this thing starts breaking down, that's horrible. Skip on LG appliances

Known faulty design, built to fail

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge in 2015 and have had two compressors fail. This unit has a flawed design and is built to fail. LG should do the right thing and replace all units. I've had to spend hundreds of dollars on repairs as well as lost money on food.

POOR QUALITY - Compressor failed
