[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge 3 years ago. And it looked great. But then i noticed the Black is flaking off the bottom of the freezer. When I bought this I thought black stainless was black stainless NOT painted on.And now the compressor is broken!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Happy!

Purchased our refrigerator in March 2016. In December of 2018 (right before the Holidays) the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. Lost $$ in food. Repaired with a new compressor and I still have problems. The refrigerator never goes below 43 degrees (even though temperature is set between 34-37 degrees) and when the door is opened the temp goes to above 50 degrees rapidly. As of June 2019, a cup or more of water collects under the large deli tray every 2 days. A another repair man came out, took the back off the inside of fridge and the coils were frozen. Again food loss. Unplugged fridge for 24 hours to allow for coils to defrost and allow water to drain. Drained into the fridge again not out the back!!! As of 8/24 water is still collecting under the deli tray in fridge. Waiting again for another repairman. So frustrating!!
I have a full suite of LG appliance as well - microwave, range, washer and dryer hopefully these will continue to perform properly!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful Design, Unreliable Refrigerator

This is the most expensive and the WORST refrigerator that I have ever owned. In approx 3+ years I have had the ice maker fixed 4 times, and the compressor replaced once. The fridge died and had to have the ice maker and the compressor replaced. I lost $400 in food. Now it makes a noise and the ice maker is not working AGAIN. LG Customer Service is as bad if not worse than the unit!! They apologize a lot but do nothing. They do not call back, and they could care less that one is without a refrigerator for 11 days because the compressor and the ice makers are out of stock. I guess my unit is not the only one with a problem? Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache that comes with an overpriced LG refrigerator that is totally unreliable!
Pros: Style/Design

First it was making ice in the top part refrigeration compartment. LG came and replaced some logic board which changes the defrosting cycle (or so the tech said). But, then it stop making ice, then the entire refrigerator stop working. The warranty company said is some kind linear compressor failure. The seal system is broken and now I'm left without a refrigerator. LG suppose cover the seal system but we have to pay for parts+labor. The extended warranty company is now 'reviewing options', whatever that means. It's been close to 2 months without a resolution. I will never buy LG again.

Only two years old. Already broke, parts covered, but labor was ridiculous. Two years old and cost us $725 in labor to fix, not counting the food we lost. LG knew the compressor was a problem, but only covered the part, not the labor.
I bought this brand new (Approx. $3000) in September 2018 and January 2020 it broke down. Visually it looks great; just not very dependable.

My LG quit cooling within three years. LG paid to have the compressor fixed. Took two weeks for the compressor to arrive and be installed.
