OK, but compressor died before 4 years old

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 2nd one of these fridges I've bought. I have an "all-LG house" - Fridge, dishwasher, electric range, washer, dryer. This refrigerator, however, stopped cooling a couple of weeks ago. It took nearly 2 weeks for the parts to arrive and the repairman to visit. He put in an all-new compressor and both evaporators. That was Wednesday. It's now Saturday, and still we have almost no cool air. We are now waiting for yet another visit from the technician so he can see what else is wrong. We were warned by another appliance dealer that LG's weren't good, but this is the first time I've actually had an issue.However, it's a big one! No fridge in my kitchen for 3 wks is a big pain! LG has been responsive and the technician was good (I thought at the time, anyway). So we'll see, but are considering another brand because of this if this can't be repaired.
Oh, an the stainless steel surface is impossible to maintain. It has developed rust spots several times which can be removed, but really - it's called STAINLESS STEEL!! This shouldn't be happening.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good refrigerator but compressors are bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned our LG refrigerator for 3 years It has worked fine until a month ago and then the compressor died. After doing some research and talking to several service people I learned the compressors in these LG refrigerators are defective. LG has since changed their compressors they use in their refrigerators. Getting a replacement compressor has been a nightmare and we re still waiting after a month.
I would recommend this to a friend!

First the door controls stopped working and the door had to be replaced at 12 months. We have had three compressors break and a leak of Freon. Each about 18 month apart. The front panel does not show the correct temp inside. Buy a thermometer.
