Good Fridge but compressor died too soon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we bought this refrigerator due to having good features like basic functionality. Ice maker in the door and not in the body to have save little space counter depth fridges have. But too sad to see that compressor died 5 years to the date of purchase. Luckily LG stood behind their product and agreed to replace the compressor for free, parts and labor covered. Not sure how long the compressor will last, but this will help me to look at LG for my next refrigerator for sure.

next day and replaced it. No charge and it works great. Appears to be a dependable refrigerator and I would buy again.
The only issue I have is the inability to clean around the ice maker and water dispenser area. There should be an easy access panel to get inside the unit to remove any mold/mildew. I think this is an industry problem that you would have with most if not all brands. The company that can advertise easy cleaning of this area would most likely have a significant sales increase from competition.
I like the unit and definitely would buy again unless a competitor comes up with an easy access to clean this area.

Purchased in 2017, and just now five years old, we are in the processing of replacing first our icemaker (and since the newly installed icemaker is still not making ice), replacing the entire icemaker door unit. As we wait for this door unit to be available for installation, our compressor has suddenly started sounding like a battleship and our frig is showing a temp of 54 degrees, while our freezer is showing a temp of 12 degrees, and the LG recommended setting temperatures are set. We await our fourth trip back from our repair service, and will more than likely need more trips to fix the compressor. The frig sure does look beautiful though!

Our refrigerator compressor just failed, well out of warranty, but LG stepped up and replaced the compressor at no charge.
