Great layout, but terrible refrigerator!

I love the layout of this refrigerator, but it keeps breaking down and now it is totally unrepairable. Last summer, when the refrigerator was 5 years old, we went on a 10-day vacation and sometime during those 10 days, the refrigerator totally stopped working. We can home to rotten food - the smell was beyond description. The repairman came out and ordered some parts, and 4 week later!!! got the refrigerator running again. You wouldn't believe what we had to do to get the smell out. Now 10 months later, it died again. Luckily we were home this time, but now it is unrepairable, and we have been without a refrigerator for another 2 weeks. Sad to hear that this is a know problem with this refrigerator!

We bought the LG refrigerator a little over 5 years ago and it has completely stopped working. Bad compressor and bad cooling exchange. I would not recommend LG for a refrigerator. Get a more reliable brand

Had this refrigerator for 6 years, we loved it until it stopped working because of a compressor failure. It should have lasted longer than 6 years. I would not recommend an lg refrigerator to anyone because of this

Refrigerator failed within a few years and we lost all of our food and medication. For the price paid, expected it to last much longer. Repair process seems lengthy and inconvenient. Hoping future models are built without these issues. Our other LG appliances have lasted a while, and we are happy with those.
