Not what they used to be

I had GE appliances installed in the home I built 25 years ago .... The refrigerator is still working great today although now as a spare in the basement replaced a couple of years ago with a new double door fantastic GE profile model. The (at the time) top of the line smooth glass cooktop slide in range worked great with only one or two reasonable repair trips in 25 years and the dishwasher worked like a charm for 25 years until pulled for replacement. I just replaced the kitchen floors and decided to update the dishwasher and range. The induction cook top range is good so far but the new GE Profile dishwasher is another story. I find myself washing dishes before they go in AND after they come out of this dishwasher. A very sad comparison to the GE reliability that I came to admire. Buyer beware of the model and do your research ... i wish I had ... now I may as well use it as a storage cabinet and wash dishes myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Racks spaced too far apart

I have owned GE appliances for very long. I had the older model of the profile dishwasher which I loved. The newer model that I just purchased to replace the older one has fewer racks which are spaced very far apart. Most of my dishes cannot be loaded straight, they topple over because of the extra space, especially smaller dishes on the top rack.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleans well

I bought this about three months ago. It's our second GE profile dishwasher. We use it heavily and it works well. We really like the bottle washing feature. I would give it five stars expect that two weeks after it was installed, a rubber piece at the bottom that came unglued. The repairman said that has happened with others and they recommended just removing it, which they did. The unfortunate thing is that it's much louder now -- I sometimes think water is leaking but it's not. It's not all that loud but the decibel level with dishwashers is such a selling point that it's noticeable and a disappointment. Overall, though, it works well and gets the dishes clean and dry.

Very quiet, hardly know it is on. Cleans superbly. Would like a little different configuration on top racks. Tall glasses fall over and large mugs don't fit.

Nice and practical appliance

Bought this 4 months ago. Nice and practical appliance. Like the fact that it clearly shows what it is doing. Best of all it is super quite. Only thing I miss that I had in prior model is the pre-loading of liquid detergent feature, it caused a bit of corrosion of appliance (maybe why it was removed) but was a very practical feature, actually we sometimes forget to put detergent in the new since we were so accustomed.

Quiet and gets things clean

So much quieter than the plastic tub machine it replaced. Not a big fan of the multiple button pushes required to scroll through the cycle selections

Good but not great!

The third time we went to use this dishwasher we finally figured it out. Granted, we did not consult the directions, but I believe the average person would not either. I will say this is a SUPER quiet dishwasher, which is its saving grace for this review. Just today my hubby opened it mid-cycle because he did not know it was in use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
