Quiet, efficient, sleek looking
on July 13, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just bought our first Bosch dishwasher and I LOVE it! From the sleek black look to the super clean dishes after its been run, to the absolutely quiet motor, I have fallen in love. I had read so many wonderful reviews before I purchased my new dishwasher but it is even better than I expected. And I love the third rack for silverware and extra long utensils. I also love the fact that the middle rack adjusts so depending on the height of the items being put in, you can make things fit without a lot of fuss.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My oven is louder than this dishwasher
on August 29, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher is so quiet, it shines a light on the floor to indicate that it's running. My convection oven is louder than this dishwasher. About six months ago, we replaced our old dishwasher with this model. The old one was going strong after 24 years but the only thing quiet about it was the decal claiming how quiet it was.
Aside from the quiet, I like that this dishwasher has a flat front and sealed controls on top of the door. The sealed controls are easy to clean and unlikely to be damaged just because liquid spills in from the top. (I did not choose the dishwasher with mechanical buttons for this reason.)
I also selected this model for the uppermost utensil tray, and I've been glad I did. We promptly banished the utensil basket from the lower rack to a high, out-of-the-way shelf. The utensils get cleaner when they're not packed or nested, and the lower rack holds substantially more. Indeed, it takes the two of us quite some time to fill, and we only run it every few days. (I may also pop out and set aside the flip-down things in the center rack and the tall item support. I seldom use those, either.)
I'm a little annoyed that it keeps nagging about rinse aid. I tried the rinse aid sample that came with the dishwasher, and it left the dishes, and especially the stainless utensils, feeling slippery. Not wishing to add miscellaneous chemicals to my diet, I chose to refill the reservoir with white vinegar after that.
I chose the white finish partly to coordinate with older kitchen styling I still like and partly because stainless tends to show every fingerprint. I also took some of my own dishes to the showroom to check the fit, and found that the tine spacing on this model holds my bowls apart, so they do not lean on each other and are less prone to complete the cycle with debris wedged in between. Our results so far bear this out.
And, while it's difficult to say for certain, I'd say the new dishwasher is quite a bit more water and energy efficient than the old one.

Dishwasher Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very quiet, cleans and washes well. Express cycle dries poorly. Auto and normal cycles dries better when using sanitize system. However, water still remains on the door after the cycle is complete and some water on dishes. Would much prefer less energy efficiency and better drying capability.

Quiet,cleans well but Smells
on June 21, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had for a month and very quiet and seems to do a good job cleaning but if I do not run every day the inside smells. There are only two of us so this is a problem. I clean filter every other day usually nothing in there so not sure why it smells so bad

Quiet, versatile and outstanding!
on August 2, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product last week, had it delivered yesterday, and used it for the first time last night. This is my first time purchasing a Bosch dishwasher; my old dishwasher was VERY loud, and it always had issues getting dishes clean (always had water spots or grime regardless of whether I used rinse aids, etc.). It also developed a leak, and was pooling water under the dishwasher.
Let me start by saying, I am absolutely amazed at how quiet this unit is when it washes dishes; during a cycle, my husband thought it wasn't running and had to open it to make sure it was on (and got sprayed with water, haha). This dishwasher is awesome!
I was actually excited this morning (yes, I said excited!) when I had more dishes to wash, so I could try some of the different cleaning programs. So far, I am impressed with the different programs - regardless of the program, my dishes come out sparkling clean every time.
I did a lot of research on this product (and others) before purchasing this unit. I had a few key features in mind that my new dishwasher needed to have: low decibel rating, energy star, leak protection and NSF sanitize rating. When comparing other models/brands of dishwashers, very few met my qualifications (and all of the ones that did ended up being Bosch, haha).
I chose this specific model for the low decibel rating, the NSF sanitize feature, its Energy Star rating, the AquaStop leak protection, and the versatility it provides in being able to quickly and easily adjust the racks (literally, in a matter of seconds) to different heights based on the items you need to wash (an amazing feature I hope Bosch never gets rid of). I also LOVE the third rack for silverware, which leaves you with the ability to remove the silverware caddy for additional space on the bottom shelf. The 24/7 AquaStop leak protection will certainly give me peace of mind; no more pools of water in my future!
I must also share my delight in the InfoLight; although it wasn't something I needed to have in a dishwasher (nor was it something I was looking for), I find it very convenient, and honestly, without it, I'd never know when the dishes are done because the darn thing is so quiet!
The only thing I had left for wanting was the water softener feature, which apparently is available in the "chrome" model, but not the white model. Oh, well.
Advice I would give to potential buyers:
- Be prepared to be amazed! This thing is awesome, and has a lot of features that you can't find on any other dishwasher (or at least I couldn't)!
- The sanitize program sure does work, but be wary, folks.. it gets HOT; it moderately warped one of my bargain brand "dishwasher safe" glass tumblers. All of my other dishes remained undamaged/un-warped, so obviously the issue lies with this particular piece of glassware, not with the dishwasher.
- The dishwasher drain tube needs to be attached to a high-rise loop or an air gap, otherwise the water will drain back down the tube into the dishwasher, creating standing water in the bottom of your dishwasher.
- In order for your dishes to achieve proper "dryness," wait a few hours after your dishwasher cycle is complete. If you open it up immediately after a cycle, your dishes will still be wet.

Bad Smell
on August 8, 2015

I bought this dishwasher about a month ago after researching and reading all of the positive reviews. I am not happy with it as there is a bad smell constantly. It was this way from the beginning and seems to be getting worse. I run the dishwasher and the very next day it has a very bad smell. The installer said if there was a smell to try putting white vinegar in the bottom which I have been doing after every wash, but it seems to not help now.
I also do not like the layout of the bottom rack as I cannot fit as many items as I have used to doing. The position of the tines makes it difficult to put pots and pans there. I took out the 3rd rack as I couldn't fit some items in the other two when it is in due to having to lower the 2nd rack.
I do love the quietness of the machine, just wish it washed dishes better and didn't smell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

CLEANS WELL, BUT HARD TO LOAD
on October 22, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the dishwasher for 3 months. It cleans better than my former dishwasher, especially the corners on the middle rack. I love/hate the top rack. It is nice to place small or flat items (lids) on, but sometimes cooking utensils don't come clean. The one thing that I dislike the most is the tines in the racking system. I NEVER wash 16 place settings at a time, but I do wash pots & pans every day. Pots & pans are hard to position with the closeness of the tines in the bottom rack. The middle rack doesn't do a great job of holding enough glasses in an upright position.

I'm Impressed!
on February 15, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The past few years I have moved frequently, and usually ended up replacing or adding a dishwasher. I have had all brands, usually the upper end models, which have done the job with various degrees of annoyance from noise. In this house my kitchen is open to the living room and the old dishwasher was extremely annoying in the evening. So I started looking at the noise ratings. Bosch was good, but expensive, so I checked out the dishwasher display in the store. When I compared the other dishwashers craftmanship and durability (yes I slam the door), there was no comparison. Bosch is well built right down to the impressive drain hose that came with it. I love the features...simple but variable. The jets are strong and blast food off pots and pans, but yet the machine is very quiet. I love the 3rd rack for those long utensils and odd items that usually end up rattling around the tub. For me, I think this will be the last dishwasher I need to purchase.
