Samsung smart tv 40" led

This is the first samsung I have ever purchased. I am absolutely thrilled with it. The picture is so clear and crisp. I had heard there were issues with connecting to Netflix and I have had no problems. My grandsons watch it all the time as well as hulu. I would definitely recommend this tv. It was purchased at a great price right before Black Friday.
Bought this for a second room tv .It's great , but am going to get the Samsung 4K for our main tv
Pros: Bright display, easy set up

We bought this tv as a Christmas present for ourselves and after looking at many other brands found that the 48" Samsung had a great picture and everything we wanted including the price. I would recommend this product to anyone who asks.
The major problem with this TV is that the remote must be within 5 to 6 feet of the TV to operate. The "Smart Hub" button seldom works. Thus to get to the smart hub I must go through the Menu button. The Smart Hub is where apps are found. It does include a browser but the browser has limited functions. For example if you want to watch a TV show that is not found on Netflix or like app you will be able to get to the web site but the video will not work when you pick an episode to watch.
However, you may be able to attach a laptop to the TV using an HDMI cable. In that case whatever is on your laptop will also appear on the TV screen, in theory. I have not attempted this yet for fear of over powering the control board of the TV thus damaging the TV.
I have not found a way to connect the TV to laptop using WiFi. The e-manual is not the easiest to navigate but I will continue to look for this feature.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight

Can not use flash player

I bought this thinking that I would be able to stream NBC and CBS, but it will not allow Adobe flash player. I do not want to subscribe to a middle man streaming service. I could have bought a much less expensive TV to hook up as a monitor. You tube is the only thing I occasionally stream directly with this TV.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, can not use adobe flash player
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Problems with few applications

one of the problems we are facing with this particular model is that the tv takes some time to prepare for actual start and launch of applications. More annoying is the problem that often comes with Netflix application. Most often, it keeps refreshing any program we watch. This problem comes for sure in one out of three attempts. Have already made the technical department of Samsung aware of this issue and after some trouble shooting it could not be solved and we were given a ref no. It should have been solved in a day or two according to the representative but unfortunately it wasn't. We are thinking of returning this model and buy from some other brand.
