I was looking for a backpack for school and when I travel. Something to fit my 17" laptop, a change of clothes, and maybe some small items. When I got it, I start to look for the wheels. This backpack the size of small carry-on luggage. This thing is HUGE, and kind of heavy. It is so much larger than your standard backpack. If your looking for storage this is definitely for you. I think I will find something smaller.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

starting to show wear.. after 15 years..

I must have bought this backpack around 15 years ago.. it's starting to show some wear. took it to Afghanistan and Iraq and countless other overseas trips as well as used locally as main laptop bag. it outlasted at least 3 laptops.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been using this backpack for 5 years now and never had any issues. This was not just my laptop backpack. I used this as my travel backpack as well. I highly recommend this.

Great bag while it lasted

I've had this bag for a long time, probably about 10 years or more. It has been my favorite bag mostly because it is so large and I love the material and the way that my laptop, tablet, and other items are so easy to put in and to remove. The way this bag feels against my back and the nice, sturdy shoulder straps have made it great to wear for long walks while traveling all over the place, including several trips to Russia and other parts of Europe while carrying laptop, cameras, tablet, and various other items. Sadly, the interior pockets have started to rip loose at the stitch points, so its days are likely numbered. Since I can't locate a sales receipt after all this time, I'll just have to eat the cost, I guess. No warranty without a sales receipt. I'm a little disappointed to read reviews that say that the handle has been changed. I like the nice, sturdy handle that's on my version of the pack. I also wish that they'd have integrated a couple of things by now - (1) a rear zip pocket to put cash, passport, wallet, etc., in, and a strap to allow me to place this bag securely onto the handle of my checked or carry-on bag.
