Why No Rechargable Batteries?

Moving up from a DS-30. Disappointing that this DS-40 doesn't just have some rechargeable batteries in it. Why cheap out on 4 AA's that are not charged when plugged in to USB or the additional cost 5V power supply?

Very recently purchased this scanner primarily to scan receipts for my business. Does a great job. The scanner software makes it easy to designate specific jobs to assign receipts to.

DS40 won't stay connected

I'm now forced to reinstall the product since: 1) I never could get it to connect over WiFi with Windows 10, and 2) with the USB connection, each time I step away from it for (e.g.) 10 minutes and come back, and I relaunch the app., I then cannot reconnect; complains that the device is "not connected"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wonderful machine

I have used this machine for over a year on another computer with great success and very little problems. It's very portable and you can use it anywhere. I have even saved old family photos from the 60's and 70's using this device. Wonderful invention.

Portable scanner

I've ordered, received my Epson scanner and the quality is great. The only challenge i've had is not being able to connect it to my WiFi network with WPS feature; i spent an hour trying and gave up. This could possibly be an iisue my end with my router. I've installed the software and curently using it in direct USB mode and I'm yet to try it in AP mode possibly some time in the future. It scans fast enough for me. Great quality portable scanner.
