[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a kitchenAid since 1966. It finally had it's last beat. I loved it and used it frquently over the years. That's why I bought a new KitchenAid. I also have my mother's machine which she bought in 1978. I use that for my backup when I bake in quantities. (which I do often)

Difficulty with whole wheat bread mixing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mixing 100% whole wheat bread dough (whole wheat flour, nonfat dry milk, honey, vegetable oil, yeast, salt, water) is problematic. It is unclear when the dough is fully kneaded. The dough hook does not appear to have the same kneading process as the corkscrew style that was with the Professional 600 series and the lift-up bucket. Two batches with this newer model yielded loaves that did not rise very much. (And, no, it was not a problem with the yeast.)

Missed the 70's machine the family used to have.
