[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only ever had a "normal," nothing special, hand mixer.... then I got the kitchen aid stand mixer for my anniversary! Baking, cooking, prep, etc will never be the same. Easy to use and so many different attachments for options. Bonus, it looks great on my countertop! I'll always be an owner of kitchen aid stand mixer.

Great for people who eat gluten free

Design Flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hesitated buying this mixer for several years because the head of the machine is as large as the circumference of the bowl. There's no room to scrape the sides of the bowl, without turning off the mixer and tilting the head back. I see the TV chefs get flour all over the head while demonstrating their recipes, because there's no room to add ingredients. The plastic bowl guard is useless. When turning on the mixer, the speed-level often flies to the highest setting flinging ingredients all over the kitchen--even with the bowl guard attached. If this was a cheap appliance, I wouldn't be so hard on KitchenAid. I wish I had my mother's Sunbeam Mixmaster that she got for her wedding in 1948. The offset-turntable created space to add ingredients and the gear mechanism for the beater-speed was as smooth as butter. I was able to operate that machine as a child and never had the messes this KitchenAid creates.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
