My coffemaker just stopped working one morning about one week after I purchased it. IT was just dead...no heat. The only thing that worked was the clock on the front. Unfortunately, I had thrown out the box and was unable to return it. Hard lesson learned.

Only lasted about 8 months.Still under warranty but service center was in Toronto.40.00 to ship a $20.00 dollar coffee pot for repair that was'nt going to happen so in the trash it went. Im going back to Instant Coffee.

Work fine for a couple months, but I expect my purchases to last more than 5 months, unless of course it is pizza. Five months (nearly to the day) after purchase the heating element stops working. From other reviews, I am not paying shipping costs to have a $25 coffee maker fixed. Cheaper to buy another one that is not Mr. Coffee.

Bought this plain coffee maker for my mother (86); it has nothing but one ON/OFF switch which is what she wanted. It's simple and it works as designed; you fill the water tank, add coffee filter and coffee, turn the switch on and 5 minutes later you have a pot of coffee. Drink, turn off, empty the filter/coffee and you're done - wait until tomorrow morning and start over.

What's not so great: Kind of loud while brewing but if you're 86, you don't have your hearing aids in at 6 A.M. so who cares

We have always had great luck with the lower end Mr. Coffee machines. They don't have timers, fancy digital displays, or computers. They just do what is necessary and that is make a great cup of coffee without a great deal of fuss. I expect it to last for many years.
