It's a toaster, but does have multiple settings to allow you to find the right way to cook for your needs. Only reason not getting 5 stars is that the first one we got was a dud, didn't work out of the box. So far no real complaints, but haven't owned it a long time to know how long it lasts compared to other previously owned toasters.
