I have used Sony dvd+r for years and averaged about 8X Recordings and 9 min to burn a disc. I bought these Dvds because of the reviews and the price and I must say I am sticking with these from now on. I get true 16X Recordings and less than 5 min. to burn. These discs read instantly in both dvd players. Sony I sometimes had to eject several times to get them to recognize. Also these discs are stiffer than most and seem to be more durable. If your reading this for inspiration then this is the one I would recommend for you. I hope you have the same results......
What's great about it: Faster recording speeds and quick response.
What's not so great: none yet

After trial and error and reading review after review I now use only Verbatims. The quality is only matched by Taiyo Yudens (only available at some online retailers) and there are no DVD player compatibility issues. When it comes to the world of blank DVD media, use these and you won't regret it.
What's great about it: Quality, DVD Player Compatibility
What's not so great: None

These DVD+R discs are truly the best around, I have yet to have a coaster! These DVD's also have an expensive feel to them which basically means they feel like they are well made and put together, some brands of recordable media have a very cheap feel to them and thus the top side where you write on chips away over time and (at least with cd-rs, not sure about dvds) incidentally that is where the data is stored so the disc becomes defective and useless, but not these, very solid discs! Basically just great and VERY affordable! They should be free though, just like everything else should be free! No? =-(
What's great about it: Perfect quality, discs "feel expensive", great speed!
What's not so great: They're not free?!?!

Outstanding media. Have exclusively used Verbatim DVD+R / DVD-R for 3+ years. Every burn is a keeper (not a single coaster). Very high compatibility with standalone DVD players (even older ones).
What's great about it: Very high burner & standalone DVD player compatibility
What's not so great: none
