Stopped working after 4 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We haven't had the fridge for only 4 years and it has stopped working. Thank goodness for extended warranties or we would be buying a new one. We also have had trouble finding someone who will work on it. It's been over a month and still waiting on a repair person.

Frustrated Fridge Owner

Our 18 month old LG fridge needed a new compressor, frustrating for such a new appliance. After some time on the phone with customer service the company agreed to replace the compressor and covered the cost of the parts and labor. Tech was neat and tidy, repair completed in about an hour and a half. 60 days later it’s happened again! Freezer set to -21 and we can’t get ice, food spoiling, and the process begins again. LG may be an acronym for Lotsa Grief

Loved it until it failed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this for less than 5 years when it failed. Liked the design and space. Then the nightmare began. Freezer seemed to cool but the refrigerator seemed to think it was a microwave. Technician very nice and earnest. First the compressor was replaced, then the condenser and then a week later, fourth technician visit, it was deemed not repairable. There is a known defect with these refrigerators and even a class action lawsuit settled before mine failed because of this. I’ve simply been asking that LG follow the settlement guidelines when it comes to reimbursement for this refrigerator and the lost food. Nope. Will be litigating this.

A great disappointment in the LG brand

We bought the LG refrigerator because LG had been a good brand name. The refrigerator worked great for about a 18 months then on the Eve of Thanksgiving the compressor stopped working. Doing some research we dis covered that this problem is not uncommon. LG did replace the compressor and it lasted about 15 months before it gave us a scare everything in the freezer was melting. We unplugged it let it set for an hour or so plugged it back in and it started working again but we can't trust it anymore. We are extremely disappointed in LG brand. Won't buy again.
