[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator stopped working after and a few months while we were on vacation and flooded my kitchen floor. Food spoiled! Now it’s 5 years old and a new compressor had to be installed. Ice cream still isn’t getting hard enough. Waiting for repair man again. Not only was the refs lot of money but the repair costs and replacing the food is expensive. I see there was a lawsuit because of the compressors but I’m too late to do anything about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator performed flawlessly for five and a half years and the compressor failed. I called a local repair company and they verified the failure but were not interested in fixing it. In hind sight I should have contacted LG service immediately, because once I did LG scheduled an appointment, updated me right up to the day of service and performed a complete, professional and FRIENDLY repair. LG's warranty was honored and repair cost was extremely reasonable. This refrigerator offers several areas of chilling in the bins and drawers that keeps produce and dairy fresh much longer than our previous units. My partner swears that the bottom drawer freezer trays also allow for different levels of freeze which keeps ice cream lightly frozen and meats solid as a rock. This refrigerator sounds an alarm if the door is held open for awhile. I recommend the audible alarm should sound continuously if the preset temp falls by a couple of degrees for 30 minutes. We could have saved some groceries when our compressor failed.

Only after 5 months I have seen cracks all over the vegetable tries' door and shelfs in fridge part of it, these fridge shelfing is not made to last long at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this about 3 years ago. If you had asked me to review 2 months ago I would have given it 5 stars. It has tons of room and I learned from experience that I can take the whole thing apart to clean up spills and make it look brand new again. However, a little over a month ago both the fridge and freezer suddenly stopped cooling. Not knowing what was wrong I paid to have a repair company come look at it and was told the compressor had went bad. Then I was able to call LG directly because the compressor only is covered under warranty for 5 years. By the time I was able to get an appointment all the food from my fridge and freezer had gone bad. So all in all I love the fridge and freezer when it’s working but it was one heck of a pain when it broke. I will say the repair man LG assigned was fantastic!
