Defective Compressor but great functionality

I bought this roughly 3 yrs ago and loved the functionality, but the compressor that was installed is defective and told it's a common problem with this particular refrigerator. I had to replace our compressor with a new one that should last us 10 years. Currently waiting for LG to reimburse us for the repairs as it is still under warranty.

Purchased in 2017, have been completely satisfied. Ice maker is half the space of competition. Freezer has versatile shelves for easy sorting. Dual doors, + pocket door great for most frequently used foods & beverages. Very spacious with 3 shelves & sliding drawer. Keeps food at perfect temperature & freezer compartment is very efficient plus electricity drain is minimum.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This will be our 3rd Lg refrigerator. We have had back luck with the linear inverters. Lg has replaced the compressor 3 times on our older unit. We just recently received an entirely new refrigerator. We had to purchase it out right this was not a warranty replacement. The refrigerator is awesome as long as it can stay cold. I invested in a wifi remote temp sensor that lives in the refrigerator and sends my phone regular updates and alerts if needed. So far so good. It does seem (from looking and the temp history) that my unit cycles quite a bit. That may be completely normal as it did not have this 3rd party sensor in my old frig. So all the old units died pretty consistently at 18months. So we will see if they’ve truly updated things this time around

This is my second LG refrigerator, the compressor went out, it was only four years old. I am extremely happy that a new compressor was installed at no cost to me. I’m very happy t is repaired, I’m hoping that I can be reimbursed for the food I had lost due to defrosting.
