Disappointed with the Smart Grid feature

Bought this refrigerator because of the sales pitch related to the Smart Grid feature. Saving energy is important, and thought this would be a nice extra. Simply download the app and the refrigerator will pair up with your home network, and your local power company.
After the install, come to find out, it can only be paired with an android device. What about the millions of customers who have iphones and ipads? They don't count?
So at least for now, it's an expensive feature that's totally unusable.
Too soon to rate the rest of the features. Hope they're better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this fridge in July I am Happy Happy with my new appliance the look is elegant and makes a statement. My friends are envious of my new toy.

Good but...

We have had our LG for over a year now and I guess I'm mostly satisfied except for two things. There are not enough places to put tall containers. I can keep a gallon of milk in the door and another on the right hand side of the middle shelf, but there is never enough room for the bottles of juice, soda, and wine.
My other gripe is that the "smart" features of this fridge are absolutely useless. The iPhone app has never worked and I suspect it never will. All the wifi connection ever did was waste my time trying to get it all to work.

Loud/poor shelving/minimal ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is LOUD. It has a constant hum that I have never had with any refrigerator.
The Refrigerator is huge but not designed for efficient use. The side shelves don't move or are so narrow most jars won't fit in them.
Super minimal ice supply.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator to replace a 10 year old side-by-side that I absolutely hated. There was no room on either side to fit much of anything and the stainless steel finish always looked so messy. This refrigerator solves both of those problems. It is huge! I loved all the different drawers and storage compartments. And the surface easily wipes off and looks fantastic. The door-in-door feature is wonderful and is used constantly. The ice and water in the door works perfectly. The only real complaint I have is that I wish there was more space to place tall items. Other than that, I love this refrigerator just as much today as when we got it a year ago.
