I bought this refrigerator 2 1/2 years ago and just had to replace it due to a compressor/sealed system problem. Warranty covered parts but not labor and repair contractor stated labor would be close to price of new refrigerator and came with no guarantee that it would fix the problem. I wish I had done my research.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it works amazing product. Food remains fresh and good shelf design. However disappointed that the compressor failed in less than two years. While the part is covered, the labor cost to fix was close to $400. So question the long term reliability of the unit. Have had other high end branded units over the last 30years with no issue.

warning: LG is a BAD product!!!!!
We purchased a brand new LG refrigerator, stove, microwave, and 3 years ago! Paid over $2k for the refrigerator and the it only lasted 3 years! We heard a noise and it just shut dead off! I paid for refrigerator over 2 grand and its life line is only 3 years!!! NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! I gave the warranty department a call to help me out but all I get is a run around!!!! I have a family at home and we've been eating out for the last 2 weeks because #LGelectronics can't back up the name of their product! Check out the pictures I sent them....I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL PLASTIC COVERS in the refrigerator! It's still brand new!!!! NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM #LGelectronics their product is weak and will never last! Their warranty customer department will not help to fix your problem!!!
IF THIS BLOG CAN JUST #STOP 1 OR MORE FAMILY LOOKING FOR AN APPLIANCE NOT TO BUY #LGelectronics I will be a bit satisfied!

Great features, Broke 4yrs, HORRIBLE Warranty Srvc

4-years old, it broke, called local refer tech who diagnosed Failed Compressor and recommended we contact LG Warranty Service. Customer Service experience was HORRIBLE. Numerous BAD referrals ... multiple LG Certified techs supposedly scheduled for this week by LG Warranty Dept, but in fact they would not have a tech available until weeks or months away, and in one case, the referred/scheduled repair service said that they are not accepting ANY more LG warranty work. Multiple conversations with Customer Srvc reps (even with several escalations) lead only to further frustration. We’re going shopping for a new NON-LG refrigerator TONIGHT!!!

If there was an option 0, I would choose it!!
I had a very bad experience of LG refrigerator. Only 2 years and half my refrigerator 's compressor stopped working. After a new compressor changed by LG technician. I was told by LG technician that the new LG compressor is designed to run 24 hours to keep cooling ( my electronical bill is getting higher ) . The worst thing is, after the new compressor, my refrigerator gets very noisy, the noise index is always about 58 hz or higher all the time!! It means that I don't have a second peaceful in my house now. I talked to the customer service and the techenician was sent to fix the problem is not helping at all ! As long as the refrigerator is cooling. they don't care anything else. The technician told me no quiet refrigerator in the world. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! Before they changed the compressor the refrigerator was quiet. And also I compared it my friends' refrigerators, their noise index are average between 35hz and 43hz. Mine is 58hz!! Now the noise is already affecting my life. I am so frastrated and hate the refrigerator. The quality of LG is not good at all!! Not worthy to buy it!!!!

Bought the refrigerator with high expectations as it looks good. Compressor failed and now they are asking $1300 to fix it. Previous one we had lasted 10 yrs with no issues.

Worst refrigerator I've ever owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Soon after purchase freezer had an ice build up that caused the unit to stop working. LG had to come to home to repair. Now, after 3 years, the unit has completely died. LG says they only have a 1 year warranty. LG says they plan to do something but it's been 3 weeks and food had to be thrown out.
